Many of the Fiend Intel challenges in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth ask you to Pressure enemies like the Stormwing, but how do you do it? To make sure you beat this combat challenge, here’s what to do.
FF7 Rebirth: How to Pressure Stormwing
Pressuring and Staggering enemies is one of the easiest ways to gain an advantage during fights in FF7 Rebirth. But one of the Junon enemies to Asses asks you to Pressure them, alongside Stagger, and defeat them within the time limit. How you can Pressure Stormwing in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth by exploiting its weakness to Wind damage.
If you have Wind Materia to cast Aero, use this against the Stormwing. This Junon enemy is easiest to take down with a party like Cloud, Yuffie, and Barret. Yuffie has her Wind Ninjutsu which can help Pressure Stormwing, while you may have Barret there for long-range attacks, which can also inflict serious damage on Stormwing. Whoever in your party has Aero spells should come along, and in my case, Aerith is my go-to Wind Materia character.
You need to charge up some ATB before casting any Wind spells, which can become difficult as the Stormwings peck at you from above. Their move “Compression Shot” spits out a damaging burst of energy that can throw you off, so try to block as soon as you see these Stormwing birds about to inflict this move.
You should also keep watch for “Tailing Twister“, which summons an annoying swirl of wind on the ground, leaving you prone for a couple of seconds. Dodge out of the twister’s radius before it has a chance to hit you.
How to Use Assess
Using the Assess Materia on enemies such as the Stormwing can help you understand how to Pressure it, which will allow you to dish out your best attacks and take them down.
Now to complete the rest of the Fiend Intel 4: Weather the Storm challenges, you must also Stagger Stormwing and defeat it within the time limit of a minute and a half.
You can complete these three challenges by exploiting its weakness to Wind with Yuffie or anyone with Wind Materia, and charging up your ATB gauge fast enough with characters like Cloud, Barret, or Tifa to also Stagger them. Pressuring enemies will help raise their Stagger meter even further, leading you to victory in hopefully all three challenges.
