The hit four-player coop horror game, Phasmophobia is heading to consoles later this summer. At the extended Xbox Games Showcase, Kinetic Games announced its horror title will enter Early-Access for those platforms as well. This is a big deal because the physiological horror game has been making waves on PC. Opening up the floodgates to consoles is a welcoming surprise. If you want to know how to play the Phasmophobia Early-Access on your console, this guide may help.
Phasmophobia: How to play the Early-Access on console
We didn’t see much from the announcement trailer, other than the eerie first-person gameplay. It looks like Kentic Games haven’t compromised anything in order to bring it to consoles. Based on the first impressions of the trailer, you can expect the same horrifying gameplay. So, if you’ve played the PC version of Phasmophobia, nothing should be out of the ordinary.
You take on the role of a paranormal investigator, and you’ll be tasked with exploring haunted mansions. Truly spooky stuff. Additionally, you’ll have to solve many puzzles and other mechanics in order to complete each level. With four players, things could get very interesting.
When to expect the Early-Access
As mentioned before, Kinetic Games has said it will drop later in the summer. In other words, expect the game to hit digital storefronts around August. It’ll be available on the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. The added caveat is that the game on PC supports VR. If you’re one of the lucky few who has the PS VR2, you’ll be happy to know the console port supports that.
While we know Early-Access will drop sometime in August, we don’t know when exactly. To get into Early-Access, it looks like you would have to go to the store on your respective platform and buy it. At the time of writing this, there isn’t a price for the Early-Access, but one could assume it may be the same price as its Steam counterpart.
Since the game is in Early-Access, expect tons of updates that match to ones on PC.
