How to play Silent Hill Ascension

Stick together.

Silent Hill is trying something completely new with their latest game, Ascension. The latest instalment is going to be crowd-controlled, implementing group decisions and XP earning. However, due to it not being a console game, you will need to know how to play Silent Hill Ascension with the crowd.

How to get involved with Silent Hill Ascension

The new playstyle for Silent Hill is an ambitious one, and one which I really hope pays off. I love the idea of crowd participation and challenges. To be involved, you simply need to download the Silent Hill Ascension app here at the Apple Store or here at the Google Play Store. Of course, if you would prefer a more immersive experience, you can play on PC here at their website.

To get involved, simply load up the game and start making decisions. A lot of the choices and challenges can be made before the livestream, so you don’t actually have to be there. Once all the votes, challenges, and puzzles are in Silent Hill Ascension will play out at 9 p.m. ET.

Ambitious steps

Taking the gaming world into a whole new era of group gaming is an exciting step. I remember back in the day when Twitch played Pokemon, and I loved it. Everyone was inputting their own controls, and the game just had to enact them all. It was chaos, and yet somehow, after 16 continuous days, we completed it.

The problem, or joy, of crowd-controlled gaming, is the trolls. Throwing thousands of people into an anonymous room and giving them control of something is nothing short of a social experiment. As we all play Silent Hill Ascension, I will be interested to see how people behave. Of course, nothing major is on the line, and if people want to kill off every player and fail every task, then so be it. But I hope, for the sake of the game and possible games to come, players play properly.

The internet can be a hilarious but devious beast. Back when Walmart had a campaign for Pitbull’s next performance, the internet voted to send him to Kodak Alaska. This was due to his horrible rhyming of Kodak with Kodak, and he deserved it. However, it proves that the internet, with the right will, can influence big decisions.

Play Silent Hill Ascension on your PC, Android, or Apple device, and join in the fun.
