How to pay off the villa in Like a Dragon: Ishin
When you first agree to pay for the villa, the landlord makes it clear you must pay five payments of 20 ryo. He doesn’t want you to be late with any of them, either. However, it’s easy to play through much of the campaign without ever hearing another word about the payments that will make the villa yours.
To pay off the villa in Like a Dragon: Ishin, you need to start selling vegetables and other items at market. Even if you build up a balance of 20 ryo or more through other means, you won’t receive a request for payment from the landlord. He only reaches out once you have sold a certain amount of goods, which usually will be produce from your garden.
Once you fulfill that requirement, a courier delivers a letter the next time you approach your house’s threshold during a visit to the villa. Read the letter and you will find you have been summoned to the shrine in northeastern Fushimi. You can easily reach your destination by heading north along the eastern side of the Teradaya inn. When you meet the landlord, he accepts your payment and reminds you how many payments you have remaining. He also warns you not to be late.
As originally agreed, you will need to make five total payments. A new letter arrives ahead of each payment’s due date. You must read each new letter before the landlord will appear at the appointed location. Once you make the final payment, a scene follows and the ‘World’s Greatest Uncle’ achievement unlocks.
Like a Dragon: Ishin can be purchased on Steam and the Xbox marketplace.
