Tears of the Kingdom – how to make Veggie Porridge

A good Veggie Porridge will restore Link’s life when he’s feeling drained, and you can make the recipe using only a few simple ingredients.

To make Veggie Porridge in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, combine Fresh Milk, Hylian Rice, and a vegetable ingredient. That’s it. The precise vegetable you add determines the ultimate effect, but don’t get too creative or you may wind up making some other dish.

Because the main ingredient for porridge is Fresh Milk, you’ll need to become familiar with the location of the General Store in Hateno Village. That destination is in the Necluda region, just north of the Necluda Sea. The store stocks three bottles of milk at a time for 12 rupees per bottle. Since the ingredient is quite versatile, I recommend buying out all of the available supply whenever you visit. The shop is also a terrific place to purchase another necessary ingredient, the Hylian Rice.

Remember when making porridge that mushrooms do not count as vegetables. You really want something like pumpkin, carrots, or flowers. For instance, you can make Sunny Veggie Porridge using the Sundelion, which helps you to complete the Gloom-Borne Illness side quest. You might also try vegetables that improve your stamina. The best vegetables can be rather uncommon, but this is also a good time to check your garden (check our separate guide if you need to learn how to farm crops). It’s never bad to tend to multiple tasks at once while visiting a location.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available for purchase from the Nintendo Store.
