Clothing in Manor Lords does not work as you may expect from playing other RTS city building games. There is no dedicated clothing building, so making clothes may appear rather confusing.

How clothing works in Manor Lords

In Manor Lords, the people are rather resourceful and will do things themselves, including making clothes. To satisfy the clothing demand, all you must do is make the materials needed to make clothes available, and the people will make them themselves.

Clothes can be made from leather, linen, and yarn.

So as long as you have market stalls in the Marketplace stocked up with either of those materials, your people will go over, collect them, bring them home, and make clothing. Then, the clothing demand will be satisfied and you can upgrade the Burgages.

Making leather is the easiest of the three, so it will be worth to streamline leather production before you think about making yarn and linen.

How to make leather in Manor Lords

Leather is made from hide in the Tannery.

Hide is earned in two ways. It is a byproduct of hunting, and can be passively earned from Goat Sheds in Burgages.

If you haven’t already, immediately construct the Hunting Camp (located in the Gathering section of the Construction menu). This will earn you meat and hide over time, as long as you have a family assigned to it. Build it as close to the Wild Animals as you can, whilst also making them close enough to your Grainary.

Goat Sheds can be built as an extension to your Burgages, provided there is room for them. When plotting out the ground for your Burgages, make sure that there is room for the little construction sites next to the house grounds. These can be developed into a Backyard Extension. One of which is a Goat Shed, for 25 Regional Wealth.

A passive and active income of hide will be beneficial, to make sure you’re never running low of hide for your Tannery, especially as you won’t always have animals available to hunt.

The Tannery can be built from the Industry menu for four Timber. Once built, the assigned family will turn collected hide into leather, and will set up a market stall to make them available for families to pick up.

How to make linen and yarn in Manor Lords

Linen and yarn are both made from the Weaver’s Workshop.

Weaver workers will use wool to make yarn, and flax to make linen. Either of these materials will quantify for clothing, so you can just choose one to focus on for now.

You’ll harvest wool from the Sheep Farm, but will have to buy some Sheep from the Livestock Trading Post first, for 30 Regional Wealth each. This is quite a process, but will guarantee you with wool aside from the winter seasons.

Flax can be grown from fields as long as you select them to be grown. Farming is a long process and is harvested yearly, so is a seasonal resource that you’ll have to make last.

With available flax or wool, your Weaver workers will make yarn and linen, and will prop up a Market Stall in the Marketplace for people to use.

With your clothing woes out the way, you should find your approval increasing.
