Devolver produces some of the most innovative games on the market, ranging from the hellishly violent Hotline Miami to the tranquil Terra Nil. This new game from Devolver requires regenerating a world destroyed by toxins and war. Terraforming the land and reintroducing species and flora to a desolate land is calmy accompanied by soothing music. Small quotas and goals keep the game moving, some easier than others. One of the trickier early-game quests is figuring out how to make a lake for ducks in Terra Nil. With the right know-how, you’ll have them right there in your new biodome.
How to make a lake for ducks in Terra Nil
The first biosphere you have to construct requires a number of animals to be found, or introduced. Only 3 are actually needed to succeed in the level, and one of the harder ones is the Ducks in Terra Nil. Don’t expect to be able to do it the first time around. It takes a little patience.
For ducks to happily dwell on your map, you’ll need a 4×4 square of water connected to some wetlands. This doesn’t sound like much, but you may be unlucky with your map layout. There are a few ways to do it.
Use an Excavator
This is the easiest method but will toxify some of your lands. Simply run an excavator along a wide strip of the river to widen it until it is the necessary width and length. This works especially well in the River Valley map. This is the easier option to make a lake for ducks in Terra Nil.
Use a Water Pump
This will work better in the Quarry map. This map has big dips you can fill with water so use a pump to fill them out. You can use the excavator first to remove the land you don’t want. Now you can make a lake for ducks in Terra Nil. It’s hunting season baby.
Reset the Map
You can regenerate the map until you get a layout you like. This may seem like cheating, but that’s because it is.
