Customization is very expansive in Tears of the Kingdom, with many different sets to wear. One of these is the Hylian set, and one of the earliest sets in the game. Two pieces of this armor set are what Link is wearing on the cover of the game, those being the Hylian Hood, and the Hylian Trousers. If you’re chasing the look off the box art, however, you’ll need to lower Link’s Hylian Hood, which isn’t the default in-game. Here’s how to lower Link’s Hylian Hood in Tears of the Kingdom.
How to lower Link’s Hylian Hood in Tears of the Kingdom
Lowering Link’s Hylian Hood takes a little while to do in-game, which is due to the fact that you need to complete a side quest chain. You need to complete the side quest chain surrounding the election in Hateno Village. This includes a few quests, some of which revolve around finding out about the people running for election, and handing out mushrooms to certain villagers. This side quest chain can seem a bit long at first, but only took me around one hour to complete once I knew where to go and what to do.
Once you complete this chain of side quests, you’re going to want to talk to Cece in Hateno Village. After talking to you about fashion, she’ll mention how it might look good to wear your hood down. If you select the option to take your hood down, you can now wear Link’s Hylian Hood like the trailers and box art of the game! You’ll also be wearing Link’s hairstyle from Breath of the Wild, as his hair becomes this style when you wear the Hylian Hood down.
