How to kick other players in Content Warning

Just don't go too mad with this new power.

Content Warning has finally benefitted from a kick ability, something that players have been pining for since the game came out. After you learn how to kick players out of your lobby in Content Warning, you won’t have to worry about modders griefing your games.

How to kick players out of your game in Content Warning

Content Warning has been plagued by modders in public games ruining the experience without anyone being able to do anything about it. Now, however, you can kick those malicious modders.

The kick ability is only granted to the host of the game. They have the freedom to kick whoever they want without warning or without a vote. When you pause the game, on the right of the screen you’ll see the current players. For hosts, a red “kick” button has been added.

This grants the host ultimate power over who stays and who goes. As no one can “host” a public lobby unless they get lucky, this system is given to random players. Thankfully, unless the host is a griefer themselves, any sign of foul play or modding will be eliminated immediately.

You’ve got to be careful, however, as the power is given to one person in the lobby and they can use it liberally. In a way, this can be used to grief players, too, but hopefully, it doesn’t devolve to that.

Be careful about being kicked yourself in Content Warning

When jumping into Content Warning to try this out, I naturally joined some public lobbies. I was kicked from every single one immediately. The longest I was in a lobby was around 5 seconds.

I didn’t have my mic plugged in at the time, as I only wanted to quickly see how this new feature worked — and that may have been why I was kicked all the time. It seems that players no longer want to suffer playing with others who don’t have a mic, and they’re rather merciless with the time frame.

Although it makes sense, the speed at which I was kicked from some lobbies didn’t give me a chance to really say anything, which concerns me that some players have gone mad with this new power. I would recommend that the moment you join a public lobby — say something.

If you don’t have a mic, then you’ll have to keep trying to join a lobby that will accept you. Otherwise, you’ll just have to buy one.

Ultimately, this new kick feature is a good thing, and it’ll allow people to play without permanent griefing concerns. Just try not to be too harsh, it’s not just you who’s after those MetaCoins, after all.
