How to investigate the Selunite Resistance in Baldur’s Gate 3

It's time to investigate!

In Baldur’s Gate 3 Act 2, you’ll get a quest called Investigate the Selunite Resistance. This quest takes you into the Shadow-Cursed Lands and I’m going to help you complete it.

Once you get the Selunite Resistance quest, you need to travel southwest of Last Light Inn through the Shadow-Cursed Lands. Because of this, I recommend you learn all the ways to negate Shadow Curse before heading out.

Go to the Potter’s Shop which is found just before Moonrise Towers in the southwest corner of the map. Here, you’ll need to fight a few Meazels who are tough to take down because they manually separate your party. Make sure everyone has a torch so they don’t die to the Shadow Curse when your party gets separated.

After the fight is over, collect the key which is near the entrance of the shop beside a loose brick. With that in hand, open the Potter’s Chest. Read the note inside and you’ll be asked to go back to Last Light Inn.

Investigating the Last Light Inn

The note in the Potter’s Chest tells you to go back to Last Light Inn and find the Selune artifacts. These are hidden underneath Last Light Inn, so go to the docks and enter the cellar. Make your way past the cells and you’ll find a cracked wall behind some crates. Get through that and continue following the river upstream. Save before you get too far.

Once you are in the big room, you’ll need to fight a few Meenlocks which are even more difficult than the Meazels. I recommend hanging back and letting them come to you because the last thing you want is to get paralyzed near a handful of enemies.

With all the Meenlocks dead, read the note next to the Selunite artifacts. This tells you to investigate the Mason’s Guild which is directly north of Moonrise Towers.

After progressing through the story a bit more, you’ll reach the Mason’s Guild. Here, you can actually talk your way through every Thorm boss instead of starting a fight. But our goal is to go through the Ornate Wooden Hatch.

After following the passageway forward, a Keyholed Herald will stop you. At this point, you can use a key received from Mattis or you can lock-pick your way in. Once inside, you’ll encounter Shadows and Wraiths which make for a decent fight.

Once everything trying to kill you is dealt with, read Mason’s Log on the center table. This completes the Investigate the Selunite Resistance quest. Look around for some useful loot and be on your way.
