This belt increases the carry weight of whomever wears it by a huge 150 points. The superhuman strength provided is essential when you want to transport metals a long distance as they can’t be taken through portals.

The Mergingjord belt can be purchased from Haldor, the elusive merchant, for 950 coins. Haldor is a random spawn who shows up in the Black Forest biome. If you ever come across him, make sure you pop a portal down — he has some great gear.

Before you find Haldor, a cart is a fantastic way to transport heavy items around the map. There isn’t a weight limit to a cart and they have up to 18 slots. By simply standing between the two arms and pressing the ‘E key,’ you can run along with all your cargo trundling behind. They’re not the easiest things to pull, but they do leave your hands free to fight and defend.

To build a cart, you will need to be beside a workbench and have 20 x wood and 10 x bronze nails. They are pretty sturdy, but can be broken, which will result in everything being transported falling to the ground as storage boxes.

You will often find that you need to traverse the seas with a ton of cargo. Knowing how to increase your carry weight in Valheim and make the crossing will save you a lot of hassle.

Boats all have some level of storage on board except the Raft. The Karves have four slots, and the monster that is the Longship has 18. If you have the resources to build one, the Longship will serve you incredibly well.

There is a fear when it comes to transporting across the water. If you happen to have your boat destroyed then you will never see your cargo again; it’ll belong to the deep. Sadly, transport across the water is a necessary evil, so be careful.
