There’s only one way to increase the difficulty in Suicide Squad and that’s by gaining enough XP to unlock the next Invasion Level.

You start the game with these three difficulties: Walk in the Park which is easy, Best Pay Attention which is medium, and Sweating Bullets which is hard. Each subsequent difficulty increases your XP gained by 10% and resources gained by 15% to 50% which incentivizes you to play on harder difficulties. Higher difficulties also mean enemies hit harder and take less damage.

From the Squad menu, select Difficulty to see how much XP you need to unlock the next Invasion Level. I’m working toward Invasion Level 4 and I need 300,000 XP. XP is only counted if I’m playing on the current highest difficulty, which for this circumstance, is Invasion Level 3.

Besides Walk in the Park, which reduces combat difficulty, and Best Pay Attention, which doesn’t adjust combat difficulty one way or another, every difficulty increases combat difficulty. They also increase the XP and resources you acquire. Here are all the difficulties in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League:

  • Walk in the Park – +0% XP, +0% Resources
  • Best Pay Attention – +10% XP, +15% Resources
  • Sweating Bullets – +20% XP, +30% Resources
  • Invasion Level 1 – +30% XP, +50% Resources
  • Invasion Level 2 – +40% XP, +75% Resources
  • Invasion Level 3 – +50% XP, +100% Resources
  • Invasion Level 4 – +60% XP, +150% Resources
  • Invasion Level 5 – +70% XP, +200% Resources

When to increase difficulty in Suicide Squad KTJL

If you ask me, you should always be increasing the difficulty when you can in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Higher difficulty means more XP and resources. It also increases your chances at Notorious, Infamy, Legendary, and Master loot.

The only times you shouldn’t increase the difficulty is if you try it and it’s too hard, which means you need to work on buildcrafting your character or when you’re switching to other characters and it’s too hard. It’s a balance you need to discover yourself. I play Invasion Level 2 with my level 12 King Shark as I try to level him up to 30 because I get more XP and it’s not challenging enough that I can’t complete Metropolis missions.
