While there is a Traveling Merchant who may visit your base from time to time, this isn’t a guarantee. Furthermore, there are some locations that the Traveling Merchants won’t visit. So if you’re base is located within these areas, you might not have even known about Traveling Merchants. All the more reason to have one at your base.

Merchants are found throughout the map of Palworld. There are varying levels of merchants, as well as varying shop items for you to purchase. Our guide will show you how to transfer one of these merchants to your base. This not only allows you the ability to sell items at your base, but depending on the merchant at your base, you can even buy resources such as wool, Pal Spheres, and more.

Catching a Merchant in Palworld

To get a merchant at your base, you’ll first need to catch them. This can be tricky depending on the merchant you’re trying to catch. Because of this, we recommend finding a merchant that is not a part of a settlement.

For example, there’s a merchant on the far northwest side of the map (-480,745) that sells ammo. You might need to lower their health to catch them, but don’t get discouraged if you accidentally kill them. Merchants should respawn after 3+ hours, giving you another chance to try and catch them again.

But once you’ve caught yourself a merchant, the hardest part is over. From here, go ahead and return to your base. In your Palbox, go ahead and assign the merchant to your base. Not only will they perform tasks around the base, but if you walk up to them you will be able to trade and sell items to them. Now if only merchants sold copper keys.
