In Skull and Bones, one of the first quests when reaching Saint-Anne requires you to harvest some Acacia. But you may find this task impossible, even when you sail toward one of the many Acacia markers on the map. What gives?
Finding Acacia to harvest in Skull and Bones
When following the quests in Skull and Bones, you’ll be tasked with harvesting Acacia after crafting the necessary tools to do so. Your map will highlight Acacia spots on your map, which is rather self-evident. However, upon sailing up to the many different Acacia harvesting sites, you’ll find the game doesn’t allow you to harvest any Acacia.
This is because resource spots are shared for the entire server. If you go to a spot that’s already been harvested by someone else, you won’t be able to use it, and you’ll have to wait for the resource to respawn. You can tell an Acacia site has already been harvested as you’ll only see tree stumps instead of trees.
You can use the spyglass to scout out spots ahead of time. If you don’t see trees like in the picture above, then it’s already been harvested. Additionally, they’ll sparkle and glow a little.
For beginner players, I recommend heading south. The initial spots that are revealed to you are prime spots for other players, and when I headed south, there were two untouched Acacia spots for me to harvest from freely.
Also, don’t try to trick the game by buying your Acacia instead of harvesting it. It won’t count, and it’s expensive.

Harvesting Acacia in Skull and Bones
Upon sailing next to an Acacia spot in Skull and Bones, you’ll need to complete a minigame to harvest the resources.
A saw will appear with a green region and two yellow regions flanking it. When the arrow points to one of the colored regions, click it, and the resources will be harvested. You’ll need to do this three times for each of the three trees to cut them down.
When timing it perfectly on the green region, you’ll be rewarded with more materials. If you miss or don’t click at all, it’ll count as a failure. Upon hitting three failures for that task, you’ll immediately stop harvesting. But don’t worry, you can always try again with another resource deposit.
Now that you know how to get the Acacia you need in Skull and Bones, why not check out the latest season of Sea of Thieves, another great pirate game?
