How to get through Drabnir’s Grotto in Dragon’s Dogma 2

A deadly dungeon.

If you’re looking to explore the southeastern part of the map in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you need to find out how to get through Drabnir’s Grotto. This is a large cave system under a mountain that’s maze-like and treacherous to explore.

I spent about half an hour in this cave system exploring every nook and cranny while also trying to find an exit. I wouldn’t recommend going straight for the easy way out, as there are tons of chests to open and enemies to fight in this dungeon.

You can find Drabnir’s Grotto by heading out from the western entrance of Bakbattahl and walking south until you hit this dungeon. Unfortunately, you cannot go the other way since the Flamebearer Palace Spellseal Door is blocking the eastern exit of Bakbattahl. If you’re trying to find Sara to unlock Brokkr’s Smithy, this is the best way to get there.

The entrance leads you onto the first floor and you come across a hallway riddled with goblin-filled pockets. They’ll spring out at you, so get rid of them and explore the holes in the walls for some good loot and hidden chests.

I recommend you check out spot number one on the map above, as it contains a chest holding Indomitable Armor, which is made specially for the Warrior Vocation. To continue to the next area you must follow the red line above and carefully jump down an open chasm.

Basement 1

In B1F there are more hordes of goblins and similar ilk, but there are also much larger beasts as well. I recommend you go through the entrance where the green star is since it leads you to a boss fight with a large Griffon on the B2F map. You also get a campfire here to rest at.

Follow the red line to find Rattlers in your way. Knowing enemy weaknesses (Rattlers have weak points on their stomachs) is good for taking down larger groups of foes. This path also leads you to a Cyclops with protective armor on.

Once you make it to the area on the right with the water on the map you’ll find yourself in even more combat. To make things easier, I recommend breaking the water blockage at the top of the chasm. Breaking the rocks will make the water flow down to the bottom, washing away enemies with it.

If you hop up to where the yellow star is on the map, you’ll end up at the yellow star on the F1 map. You’ll get into some bouts with Slimes, and you’ll find a chest with a Harpysnare Smoke Beacon. Follow the red line to make it to the next area.

Jump down into B2F, and you’ll end up in an open area with some annoying Saurians. Luckily, there’s a chest containing The Exalted (marked by the number 2), which is a powerful weapon for the Fighter Vocation. This is the easiest area to get through after this, just continue down the hall and you’ll make it to the exit!

Upon making it to the exit of Drabnir’s Grotto you can eventually find Agamen Volcanic Island, which holds the Maisters for the Magick Archer and Warfarer.
