This hand cannon can be only earned one way, and this is by doing the PVP activities. These include Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit playlists. On top of that, no matter which mode you play, the drop rate doesn’t change. In other words, you may have to grind for it. On the other hand, the new update that came with the Season of Wish could make it appear much more often.

What is so special about the Thorn Catalyst?

It’s a surprisingly good weapon for most builds. With a plus 20 range and plus 10 stability, which makes Thron Catalyst is a must-have. Additionally, whenever you shoot an enemy this weapon deals a final blow or absorbs a Remnant. When this happens, you get more range, stability, and handling. While unconfirmed, it seems like these boosts last around six or seven seconds

These stats alone could make it perform well during the PVP sections of Destiny 2 since you can fight better and with more efficiency. As you down more enemy players, the perks of this weapon trigger more often. That alone can make you an issue on the field.
