The RGL-80 is a unique weapon in Warzone 2 DMZ that can be absolutely devastating in the right situations. It’s a six-shot, revolver-type grenade launcher that’s great for clearing confined spaces and taking out clumps of enemies. Despite how good it sounds on paper, players will rarely see this gun out in the open. Apart from the drawbacks of its weapon type, the RGL-80 has one more glaring weakness: its acquisition method. Here’s how to get the RGL-80 in Warzone 2 DMZ.
Where to find the RGL-80 in Warzone 2 DMZ
Unlike most of the other weapons in the game, the RGL-80 cannot be unlocked. Instead, players need to kill Velikan in Building 21 and pry the gun off his cold, dead hands. Make sure to grab an access card from a buy station or from orange supply boxes littered around the DMZ maps.
Velikan is a boss NPC in Warzone 2, so strap in for a tough fight. After entering Building 21, a pop-up will appear on the screen saying that the boss is nearby about halfway through the match. He will show up somewhere in the upper level of the big, open room in the middle of the map alongside his minions.
Warzone 2 DMZ – How to kill Velikan
Technically, any weapon will work against Velikan. We recommend using fast-firing or hard-hitting guns to make quick work of the thick armor he and his goons wear. Some weapons to consider are the Chimera and the RAAL LMG. Shotguns can also do the trick if players are lucky enough to get close to them. Performing a Takedown on Velikan will kill him instantly.
The biggest problem with fighting Velikan is the fact that he uses the RGL-80 himself. Staring down the tube of a semi-automatic grenade launcher in close quarters is just as bad as it sounds, so players might want to use Stun Grenades to keep Velikan from saturating the area with explosives.
A Riot Shield is another great option when attempting this boss fight since it blocks bullets even when it isn’t being held. Just having a shield strapped to your back greatly increases your survival rate since it can keep those pesky Shadow Company operators from dealing any damage.
