How to get the Polaris Lance in Destiny 2

Kill them dead, Guardian.

The Season of the Wish has shaken up the weapon meta in Destiny 2, turning several “decent” guns into fearsome powerhouses. The Polaris Lance is one such weapon and it is phenomenal at long-range combat. If you haven’t gotten one yet, let me show you how to get the Polaris Lance in Destiny 2.

Where to find the Polaris Lance in Destiny 2

Fortunately, there’s an easy way to obtain the Polaris Lance in Destiny 2, provided you have the currency. Head to the Tower and then to the Exotic Archive next to the Vault.

You can purchase the Polaris Lance from the Red War section for 1 Exotic Cipher, 1 Ascendant Shard, and 125,000 Glimmer.

It’s costly but well worth it, as the Polaris Lance synergizes with several Seasonal Artifact Perks. The Sunshot is still arguably the dominant force in Solar Exotics but lacks range. The Polaris Lance is perfect for scorching foes at a distance and is especially useful in The Coil.

Where to get the Polaris Lance Catalyst in Destiny 2

The Polaris Lance has a Catalyst that enhances the weapon’s explosive capabilities. Like most Catalysts, it can drop at the end of general activities, like Crucible matches, the Nightfall, and even Strikes. I got my Polaris Lance Catalyst while grinding the Strike playlist and recommend farming them this way, as Strikes are so short.

You can earn a Catalyst for any weapon you own at the end of Strikes, but it’s potluck which one you get, if any. I got the Polaris Lance Catalyst after 6 Strikes, but I’ve been waiting for one for my Sunshot for weeks, so it can take a while to drop.

If you’re looking for a great Exotic Strand Bow to accompany your shiny new Polaris Lance, you can’t go wrong with the Wish-Keeper. Check out our guide to learn how to add one to your arsenal.
