Where to Find the Gatekeeper Shotgun in Fortnite

The Gatekeeper Shotgun, like many other weapons in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2, comes in normal rarities and Mythic. Lucky for us, you can find a white, green, blue, purple, and gold Gatekeeper Shotgun as ground loot just about anywhere just like the Huntress DMR.

Gatekeeper Shotguns can appear all over the island, so there isn’t a best POI to search if this is your favorite weapon this season. In general, you’ll have better odds of finding Gatekeeper Shotgun by searching chests. Go to a POI and, while always watching your back, look for chests to loot.

How to Get the Mythic Gatekeeper Shotgun in Fortnite

What you really want to chase for is the Gatekeeper Shotgun Mythic. There is only one of these weapons in the entire game and it is found by defeating Cerberus. No, not the actual three-headed dog, but the NPC with the Cerberus Skin who is found at Grim Gate.

While you can defeat him solo, I recommend attacking with a squad. It shortens the amount of time it’ll take to defeat Cerberus which helps you not get third-partied by another team. The only problem with fighting with a squad is fighting over who gets the one Gatekeeper Shotgun Mythic that drops from Cerberus.

The reason Gatekeeper Shotgun is so good is it shoots three rapid shots in quick succession. Both regular and Mythic versions are full magazine reloading weapons instead of a shell-by-shell reload weapon which makes recovering and eliminating a full squad that much easier. You can absolutely shred an opponent at close range with Gatekeeper Shotgun. Pair it with the Wings of Icarus and you can’t lose.
