There are a ton of secrets hidden in Remnant 2, but to access them, you need to unlock the Dreamcatcher melee weapon. Once obtained, you can use this weapon to access the game’s secret parts, unlock new archetypes like the Invader, or obtain powerful weapons like the Crescent Moon Bow. However, the process to get the Dreamcatcher is long, but we have broken the steps down into an easy-to-follow guide. Here’s how to get the Dreamcatcher in Remnant 2.
How to unlock the Dreamcatcher in Remnant 2
Here’s how to get the Dreamcatcher in Remnant 2:
- Go to Marrow Sanatorium
- Get the Nightweaver Stone Doll
- This is done by collecting 3 Stone-Carved Dolls and the Prison Key
- Enter The Tormented Asylum using the rift
- This is done by using the Soulkey Tribute on the Nightweaver Web
- Beat The Nightweaver boss
- Use the Nightweaver Stone Doll on the Strange Web
How to get to the Marrow Sanatorium in Remnant 2
You can find the Marrow Sanatorium in the Losomn region. If you’ve never been here before, you must first go to the Marrow Parish area and progress the game enough to get to the Marrow Sanatorium. You can access the back side of the Marrow Sanatorium from here by climbing on a ladder and entering the building through a window.
How to get the Nightweaver Stone Doll in Remnant 2
You can get the Nightweaver Stone Doll by collecting 3 Stone-Carved Dolls and the Prison Key to free the prisoner in Marrow Sanatorium’s basement.
You will find the first Stone-Carved Doll on the first floor hiding behind a bookshelf.
The second Stone-Carved Doll is outside the Asylum in the corner by the metal fence.
The Asylum Third Floor Key is in the same area as the second Stone Carved Doll. It is in a shack with a closed door. However, you will need to fight a boss to gain access to it, but it isn’t a nasty fight.
Head to the third floor and look for a window where you can climb out onto the ledge. You will find the Prison Cell Key out here.
The third Stone-Carved Doll is on the top floor, behind some furniture.
Now that you have all the items head downstairs to the basement. Keep heading through the path to your left, and you will find a door that resembles the above. When given a choice, give them the dolls by selecting the “I have something of yours” dialogue choice and then choose the [Unlock the door] dialogue option. Once inside the prison cell, you can obtain the Nightweaver Stone Doll, which will be used later in this guide.
How to get Soulkey Tribute in Remnant 2
To obtain the Soulkey Tribute, you must progress through The Nightweaver’s quest until you witness her assaulting someone in the Shattered Gallery. Once she notices you, The Nightweaver will run away, and the victim will leave behind the Soulkey Tribute. You can then acquire it and add it to your inventory.
Afterward, you must head to the Nightweaver Web in the basement. Use the Soulkey Tribute on it to open a rift to The Tormented Asylum.
How to beat The Nightweaver in Remnant 2
The Nightweaver will have two phases that you must memorize to beat her, especially on more complex difficulties.
Here are the attacks you will see during The Nightweaver’s Phase 1:
- Crystals: The Nightweaver will use this attack the most. Ice crystals will home in on your position during the attack, but you can avoid them by strafing to the side or rolling away. She will always cast this twice, so be ready for the second wave.
- Orbs: You will be attacked by orbs and will need to use your dodge to avoid taking damage from them.
- Melee Attacks: The Nightweaver will use two moves together. You can identify the first move when she rears up. When you see this, she will claw at the ground while moving in your direction. You can avoid this attack by dodging her. After that, she will then crash to the ground, so keep moving after your initial dodge
- Explosive Beetles: Once you’ve done enough damage to her in Phase 1, she will begin to summon Beetles that will chase after you and explode on contact. I found it is easiest to shoot them before they reach you.
Here are the attacks you will see during The Nightweaver’s Phase 2:
- Melee Attacks: The Nightweaver will attempt to use melee attacks on you again, but the pattern changes during Phase 2: she will lung forward, swipe at you twice, and then swipe at you again while shooting Ice Crystals.
- Wall Attacks: When The Nightweaver disappears, you must stay away from any walls because she will grab you, and you won’t be able to interrupt the damage she will cause. This can insta-kill you if you are low on health, so be careful.
- Explosive Beetles: The Nightweaver will then go onto the ceiling of the building. While doing so, she will send out more explosive beetles that you can safely shoot from a distance.
- Lifesteal: This attack is the most important one you avoid. This is because she can heal herself if she damages you with it, and you won’t be able to heal yourself until the attack ends. She will begin using this attack when she is below 50% healthy and perform a slow turn animation.
Note: You can use other items on the Strange Web in Remnant 2. Read this guide to find out what other items you can obtain!
Use the Nightweaver Stone Doll on the Strange Web
After you beat The Nightweaver, you will want to return to the asylum basement and look for the cell, as shown in the picture above. Use the Nightweaver Stone Doll on it, and you will be given the Dreamcatcher in return!
