How to get the Deep Dive Key in Destiny 2

I got the Key to the Keys.

There are very few things I like more in the world than the feeling of getting loot in video games. This is one of the reasons that Destiny 2 hits the spot for me. Every little achievement, quest, and win rewards me with that sweet endorphin kick whenever I progress. Destiny 2 has even made it possible to get more bang for your buck with Deep Dive Keys. These keys award you with extra loot at the end of any Season of The Deep event.

How to get the Deep Dive Key in Destiny 2

Deep Dive Keys and Salvage Keys are actually very easy to get your hands on in Destiny 2. They don’t require any additional missions or events to be completed. You can get Deep Dive Keys by simply completing any event in Destiny 2.

If you are finding that you’re not receiving any Deep Dive Keys, you probably just need to play more. They do not drop as often as other keys, such as the Defiant Keys, do. Try entering into quick missions like the Crucible. You should be able to run through these events quickly, upping your chances of getting the rare keys.

If you have the season pass, you will also receive a Deep Dive Key at levels 24, and 92.

How to use Deep Dive Keys

At the end of any Season of The Deep event, you will find yourself presented with a chest. If you have already earned a Deep Dive Key, you will receive a greatly boosted loot pool on opening it. You don’t need to find an alternate chest; it’s all right there.

With a regular chest, you will receive about 40 reputation with the Solar Station, bait for fishing, and one piece of armor. With a Deep Dive Key, you will receive more than 200 Reputation points and a far better chance to receive a Defiant Engram.
