Are you wondering how to get The Chimney purple item in Remnant 2? While you descend The Chimney dungeon with the purple crystal, you may find a purple dot representing a purple item you can collect. However, once you get to that purple dot, it looks like there is no item to collect, but that is not true. Here’s how to beat Dungeon and obtain The Chimney purple item in Remnant 2 that seems impossible to get.
How to beat The Chimney dungeon in Remnant 2
When you first arrive at the purple crystal in The Chimney dungeon, you will see it on a pedestal. However, before you pull the switch to activate the crystal, I found the following tips for safely completing the dungeon:
- You must know that when you approach purple crystals on the spiral staircase, they will glow and send a big lightning burst in a small area. You can see the area the lightning hits by the purple circle.
- I recommend you look over the edge of the spiral staircase for these purple crystals and shoot them with your long-range gun. This will save you time and hassle when descending the dungeon.
- Two death screens will kill you if you descend too slowly or fast. When the purple crystal is activated, you will see a purple wave above you and one below you. You will die instantly if any of these hit you. In addition, I played the Handler, and the dog couldn’t revive me if I died in this fashion. I suspect this would also be the case for the Challenger’s self-revive.
- If you should die at any point before fully completing this stage of the dungeon, you will have to start it over, so you must proceed quickly but carefully. Not all of the purple crystals you destroyed will return, but all the enemies will, and each descent will take time. The first time I booked it down the stage without realizing there was a death screen was very shocking.
Overall, following the above tips took me a few hours to solo this dungeon.
With these three tips in mind, you are ready to pull the level and descend to the bottom of the dungeon. Ensure you are shooting any remaining purple crystals you come across before entering the lightning’s striking range. I found it best to ignore the enemies unless you run out of stamina or they block a purple crystal.
Once you reach the halfway point, you will come to what seems like a dead end. The purple crystal will stop lowering, and the path to continue down is blocked by roots. However, look where the purple crystal lowered to, and you will see a handful of explosive roots you can shoot to remove the ones blocking your path. However, don’t shoot these yet.
Once you reach this point, you can stay on this level without the danger of dying from the lightning. In addition, the enemies will keep spawning from above and below, giving you unlimited enemies to farm for experience, scrap, and ammo. I gained many levels using this method, and it is a great way to restock ammo should you run out from the first half. When you are done farming, you can proceed with this guide.
After you drop down, you will come to a big tree root bridge. I found that it is easiest to drop down to the platform below and continue to your left. This will skip a considerable portion of the map and many enemies that could kill you. Remember that you will skip the purple item by doing this, but that is okay because we will return to it after completing the dungeon.
Keep proceeding until you come to the very bottom of the dungeon. Still, before you attempt to shoot the explosive root stopping the crystal from descending, I recommend you circle it and destroy all purple crystals. Doing this lets you kite all enemies in a big circle, preventing you from getting overwhelmed. When you feel like you can safely shoot the explosive roots, do so, and you will complete the dungeon once it fully lowers. You will know when this happens because you will get an Objective Completed screen, and all enemies will be destroyed.

How to get the Soulbinder Weapon Mod in Remnant 2
You can now grab the purple crystal from the pedestal. This purple crystal is a crafting material called the Heart Seed, which can be traded to Ava McCabe at Ward 13 for the Soulbinder weapon mod.
The Soulbinder weapon mod fires a projectile that attaches to the enemy dealing 40 damage. Enemies within 7m become bound to the primary target after impact and share 60% of the damage dealt to them. Lasts 15s.
After you collect the Heart Seed, you can leave the room to find another chest. Once here, you must use the Checkpoint crystal to teleport from the dungeon. However, DON’T leave the area because the Heart Seed is not the purple item you skipped earlier.
How to get the Downward Spiral amulet in Remnant 2
The purple item’s icon will show you the location of the purple item on your mini-map. However, when you go to this area, you won’t find a purple item to collect because it is trapped in the air by an explosive root pod similar to the ones you had to shoot when you reached the halfway point of the dungeon.
The best way to do that is to head back up to the first part of the spiral staircase until you reach the point on the map above. There is a view of the purple item being held by the explosive root, as shown in the picture above.
Shoot it, and the purple item, the named Downward Spiral amulet, will drop to the ground for you to collect. Head back to the purple dot and collect it!
