How to get the Chicago Typewriter in Remnant 2

Getting a new gun.

Remnant 2 is a game full of things to find. You can find yourself a boss by stumbling into its lair, or you can simply find new weapons and armor after encountering a gauntlet of enemies. You can even find yourself some secrets, such as the weapon we’re talking about in this guide – the Chicago Typewriter. This is a weapon you can find by doing a little parkour and going off the beaten track of one of the worlds in Remnant 2. Here’s our guide on how to get the Chicago Typewriter in Remnant 2.

The first step you need to complete to be able to get this weapon is continuing the main story until you reach the Labyrinth and obtain the Biome Portal Key from an NPC at the end of the area. This is needed because we’re going to activate a portal that leads back to Ward 13 from the Labyrinth.

Here’s where you need to choose the path leading to the portal that begins the journey to get the Chicago Typewriter in Remnant 2. Screenshot by PC Invasion

After you have confirmed that, you’re going to need to head to the beginning of the Labyrinth, to the first Checkpoint you come across. After that, you’re going to want to head to the right of that and then drop down a ledge, and when you come to a junction where you can either head to the right or forwards towards a portal, head towards the portal. But instead of going through the portal, you’re going to want to head around the portal and look over the edge. Over that edge you should see another portal that is on the side of the block you’re currently on, drop into that portal.

After going through that portal, continue through the portal that’s in view from heading through there. Once you do that, head left after coming out of the portal through a hole in the wall. When you get to this part, the next step we’re going to need to do to get the Chicago Typewriter is some parkour.

Climbing some rocks

You should see the formation that’s in the image below on the wall you just came through which you’re going to need to climb by using the dodge button to jump/vault up these rocks. I find that holding the button can make the long jumps back and forth between the two rocks easier to land. So when you climb up the first rock, look behind you as you’re going to need to jump across the gap, and then repeat until you reach the level where there’s a hole on the right you can crouch through.

After you crouch through that hole, you’re going to want to jump across the gap in front of you, and then crouch through this little path and then when you come out of it, you should see a portal you can access using the Portal Biome Key to your left. This is the portal you need to activate to get to the Chicago Typewriter. Simply walk through the portal and then you should see the weapon in front of you, and while you’re there, grab the armor that is just beyond the Chicago Typewriter in a container.
