How to get Super Credits for free in Helldivers 2

Since Helldivers 2 is a live service game, you can expect a tiered currency system. You can earn badges by doing certain objectives during the missions that unlock weapons, gear, and other items that make you stand out. The other is Super Credits, the premium currency acquired one way — until now.

Super Credits are surprisingly inexpensive in Helldivers 2. Unlike most games that feature a premium currency, there’s value behind them. But having the option of getting them free is great as well.

To get Super Credits for free, simply play any mission. However, while you’re in the mission, look for orange or blue storage crates. They can be hard to come by. But I found a handful by going to the many question marks scattered throughout the map. Since the missions are in an open-world design, there may be tons of them to earn in a single match. There won’t be a prompt to open these crates, you’ll need to throw a grenade or an orbital drop on them. 

Additionally, look for diamonds on your map. This will lead you to a drop-ship-like pod that will open up. Unlike the crates, you don’t need explosives. Open the pod by approaching and you’ll get a prompt that will allow you to do so. 

How many free credits can I get?

I’ve found that each crate yields around ten Super Credits. The drop also rewards you with ten credits, so you’ll have to grind for them, but grinding is surprisingly fun and rewarding. You won’t just get Super Credits but many badges as long as you do all the optional objectives on top of what you’re doing.
