How to get Subterranean Aspect in Diablo 4

Sorry, there's no Dungeon for this one.

Legendary Aspects are a chase item in Diablo 4, offering game-changing abilities to every class. Some Aspects can be used by everyone, but some are hero specific. The Subterranean Aspect is the latter and is exclusive to Druids. This Powerful Aspect works wonders on builds like Poison Shred; the problem is, it’s not easy to find. Let me show you how to get the Subterranean Aspect in Diablo 4, or at least how to improve your odds of finding it.

Some Legendary Aspects in Diablo 4 are obtainable by completing specific Dungeons across Sanctuary. Sadly, the Subterranean Aspect isn’t included in that list. The Aspect is a random drop and cannot be target farmed. Still, you can do plenty of things to increase the likelihood of the Subterranean Aspect dropping. You’re at the mercy of the RNG Gods, but here are a few things you can do to tip the scales in your favor.

World Bosses

A surefire way to secure Legendaries is by completing World Bosses. There’s a decent chance that a Legendary item will be dropped when the World Boss is defeated, but we’re really here for the Grand Cache. Grand Caches contain Legendary items but are only obtainable once per week. This limit is ‘per boss,’ so you can grab 3 Grand Caches weekly.

Although not as impactful, Legion Events are another great place to earn Obuls and gear with the chance of Legendary Aspects.

Helltides

Once you’ve unlocked World Tier 3, you can participate in Helltide Events. Killing enemies in Helltides drops Abberant Cinders, which you can spend on special Chests that also appear in the area. The Subterranean Aspect can appear on Weapons, Gloves, Amulets, and Rings, so any matching Helltide Chest can drop what you need.

The Chest of Mysteries is the grand prize of this event. The amount of Cinders to open it has increased from 175 to 250 in Season 1, but it usually drops 3-5 Legendaries. Check out our guide for Mystery Chest locations, as they don’t appear on the map.

Tree of Whispers

If you fancy a change of pace, doing favors for the Tree of Whispers is a steady way to earn Legendary Gear. Favors are a little more involved as you have to travel around the map, but they are a surefire way to obtain Aspects.

The Purveyor of Curiosities

Don’t focus specifically on this method, but if you’re doing favors and tackling World Events when you see them, you’ll amass plenty of Obols. You can spend Obols with the Purveyor of Curiosities. As Gloves only cost 40, they are the cheapest items that can roll with the Subterranean Aspect. Sadly, there’s no way to guarantee the Subterranean Aspect will drop, but keep hammering away at the events in this guide, and you’ll (hopefully) have it in no time.
