Those Nightmare Sigils can become unforgiving. Time to change that, shall we? Here is how to get the Sigil Powder in Diablo 4.
Diablo 4: How to Get Sigil Powder
If you’re familiar with endgame content in Diablo 4, then you know what Nightmare Sigils are. Well, if you don’t, Nightmare Sigils are Whispers of the Dead rewards that take place at World Tier 3: Nightmare. These will open up specific Nightmare Dungeons, which are significantly more difficult than regular dungeons, but provide substantially better rewards, which may include other Nightmare Sigils. While you can use these Sigils to continue opening up dungeons, you can also visit the Occultist in Kyovashad to salvage them. In turn, you will gather Sigil Powder which you can use to purchase other Nightmare Sigils.
Now, why would you want to salvage Nightmare Sigils? After all, aren’t the rewards that you get from those great enough for you to just turn them into powder? Well, there is a simple reason which is the Dungeon Affixes. Depending on the tier of the Nightmare Dungeon you will undertake (which goes from 1 to 100), the corresponding Sigil will have an increasing number of negative affixes. These are dungeon-specific modifiers. Why you could receive a bonus for, let’s say, an increase in Critical Strike chance, your enemies can also get several boosts that will always outnumber your positive modifiers. Therefore, if you are dealt a really bad hand with several of Nightmare Sigils’s Affixes, you can just turn the Sigil into Powder in the hopes of rolling a better Sigil.

Even though you could get a better Sigil with better Affixes, this is all determined by the RNG overlords. Higher-tier Nightmare Dungeons are very hard without any negative modifiers, so keep that in mind and be flexible with your choices and Sigil Powder-making.
