Bloodless is a nasty debuff in Baldur’s Gate 3. It leaves your character much less effective in most combat scenarios. And it doesn’t really offer any benefits to you. However, it’s a stat debuff that may be worthwhile depending on various factors. That might seem confusing but don’t worry we’ll go over it all in this quick little guide. Here’s how to get rid of Bloodless in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Baldur’s Gate 3: How to get rid of Bloodless
Bloodless is contracted by the player character in Baldur’s Gate 3 by Astarion. If you’ve recruited the Vampire and slept in camp, you’ve no doubt come across a scene of him skulking around. Then another night he will be a little less cunning about it and be caught by you. From here you get a choice of either letting him bite you or stopping it from ever happening. If you let him bite you, you’ll get Bloodless which takes one point off your Attack, Ability Checks, and Saving Throws.
When Astarion drinks your blood, he gets a status effect called Happy. This does the complete opposite of Bloodless and improves the same things by 1. So while the player receives a pretty big debuff, Astarion gets a decent buff in return. There are positives and negatives to the whole affair, with Astarion being able to perform better in combat. But this comes at the cost of your own effectiveness. So, in most cases, getting rid of Bloodless is simply the best thing to do.
In order to get rid of Bloodless in Baldur’s Gate 3, just take a Long Rest with a full supplies gauge. This will restore all your HP, and spell slots, and take care of any status effects like Bloodless. With some Cleric abilities, you can negate the effects of Bloodless to a degree, to the point where it doesn’t even matter. But that’s a lot of effort for an effect that, while useful on Astarion, isn’t entirely necessary. When built correctly, Astarion is already a talented Rogue with a solid set of skills.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is now available on PC.
