How to Get Paraglider in Tears of the Kingdom

Don't be a soar losing with this guide!

Are you wondering how to unlock the Paraglider in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom? The Paraglider lets you ride the wind and glide through the sky, making traversing Hyrule much easier. It is one of the first items I recommend you get after leaving the Great Sky Island tutorial zone because it’ll make your life much easier. However, it’s not exactly clear how to obtain it or how to use it. Here is a quick and easy guide on unlocking the Paraglider in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom so you can glide through Hyrule like Aaron Durgati.

Once you’ve completed the Crisis at Hyrule Castle main quest by activating the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower, Purah will reward you with the Paraglider. Purah is located in Lookout Landing, south of Hyrule Castle in Hyrule Field, and serves as the hub during the beginning stages of the game. You can access this location once you land in Hyrule Castle for the first time.

To begin your quest, you must locate Hoz near Hyrule Castle. I recommend jumping over the wooden balcony where Purah stands and making your way toward the castle. Once you pass the stone wall gate, head up the hill and towards the left. You’ll come across an NPC character gazing at the ceiling.

The first way to use the Paraglider is when Link falls at a great height. To do so, press the Jump button to equip the paraglider to glide through the sky.

The second way to use the Paraglider is riding an updraft by pressing the Jump button twice. This will allow you to ride the updraft upwards until it ends.

Finally, and most importantly, I found that you can utilize the Paraglider with other abilities like the Ascend or Ultrahand. For instance, I used the Ultrahand ability to create a minecart, and while riding on the minecart, I jumped offed and glided to my destination.
