As you mine and collect new resources, a station may spring to life with more things you can craft using that item. For example, finding new food will allow you to make new meals. Generally progressing and finding new outposts will reward you with new things to craft, so if you’re stuck, just push on to the next objective.

Simply exploring and picking up everything you find is a great way to push the boundaries of what you can craft. This passive way of unlocking new recipes won’t give you the best things that you can craft, however.

Not only will rebuilding statues give you a buff that increases your energy for a bit, but it may reward you with a fragment of a recipe. You’ll need to search for more statues in the general vicinity to unlock the whole crafting recipe. These items are generally very useful and powerful.

This won’t happen all the time, however, and you may simply get some loot instead. On rare occasions, you may find nothing. But you’ll still get buffed. You will also need the right resources and an adequate hammer to repair the statue.

Finding all Muznaken Carvings and unlocking the Muznaken chest will also reward you with lots of loot and some crafting recipes that you’ll definitely want to get.
