Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is a complex and deep survival game set in the treacherous depths of Moria. In the depths, you’ll come across strange chests that require Muznaken Carvings before you can open them.
To get your hands on the untold treasures, you’ll need to find yourself some Muznaken Carvings.
Where to find Muznaken Carvings in Return to Moria
Each world in Return to Moria is generated differently, allowing for different paths and experiences to be had. This dictates the locations of all resources and items that you’ll come across in the depths of Moria — including the locations of the Muznaken Carvings.
They are small idols, and so are very easy to miss. Most of the time, you’ll only notice them through the prompt telling you to pick them up. They can appear anywhere in any room, so you’ll need to make sure you’re checking out each room thoroughly before declaring it empty of carvings. Perhaps double-checks are in order, as I’ve been prone to missing them behind statues and other obstacles.
Once you’ve found one, you can pick it up and return to the Muznakan of Ori’s Line chest outside West Camp. You can place the idols, no matter how many you have, on the chest. Once you’ve laced all the carvings, it will unlock, and will give you great treasures, including rare resources and even crafting recipes!

Are Muznaken Carvings renewable in Return to Moria?
You may be wondering if the Muznaken Carvings are a finite resource, considering it wouldn’t really make sense for them to regenerate in rooms already explored. The answer isn’t confirmed, but is most likely no, meaning you’ll have to simply find each one as they are scattered through your world.
But don’t worry! If you are struggling to find more, you can create a new world and explore that one with your character. You can find other Muznaken Carvings and take them back to your main world for use. This neat trick is a little cheeky but works like a charm. This trick also works for other materials and resources that may not be renewable.
I hope this has helped you out, and that you’ll be unlocking more treasures. If you want even more help in Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, look no further than PC Invasion.
