Manor Lords: How to get more oxen

Unfortunately, many players online have complained about their only ox dying and not being able to get another due to the game requiring oxen to build anything in the first place. Or perhaps you’re just looking to purchase more oxen to make life easier for your villagers. You can get more oxen in Manor Lords by using a Livestock Trading Post or a Hitching Post.

Livestock Trading Post

First off, let’s assume that you still have an ox and you want to purchase more than one more. All you have to do is build the Livestock Trading Post which you can find under the Trade section of Construction. Once this building is finished construction, select it and go to the Trade tab. This is the same building you can get sheep from.

There, you’ll find all the livestock and animals that you can trade for. You’ll be unable to press the plus or minus button until you’ve changed “No Trade” to “Import” on the drop-down menu on the left side of “Oxen”. After that, you’ll be able to choose your desired surplus of Oxen, and you can also see how much it’ll cost you (20 Regional Wealth).

You can also order one Ox at a time through a Hitching Post, but it’ll take one month for it to arrive. Since you start the game with one just open your Hitching Post menu. Then you have to purchase it for 20 Regional Wealth and wait for it to arrive.

How to get oxen after ox dies

In this unfortunate situation where your ox has died and you now have no ox, you still have the chance to get oxen. You must have a working Hitching Post to be able to purchase one new ox, or you can get oxen through the Livestock Trading Post.

If for some reason you’ve demolished your only Hitching Post and don’t have a Livestock Trading Post then you may be stuck in a soft-lock state. Some players online have gotten into this sticky situation, so if you’re one of them you may be out of luck for getting an ox. Make sure to never demolish your only Hitching Post without already having a new one at the ready.

Hopefully, in the future Slavic Magic will implement a fix for this soft-luck bug. Speaking of bugs, you may also run into the annoying homelessness bug in Manor Lords.
