The amount of resources, food, components, elements, and everything in between you can find in Starfield is beyond measure for the average player. However, collecting a good bunch of them will benefit you in the long run, enabling you to craft, research, and even build outposts that will make you completely self-sustainable and rich. Here is how to get Memory Substrate in Starfield.
All Memory Substrate Locations in Starfield
The apparently easiest way to collect Memory Substrate in Starfield is by purchasing it from vendors all across the galaxy. However, as you might know by now, each of the vendor’s inventory is completely randomized, meaning that there is no guarantee that you will find Memory Substrate or any other specific item at any specific day or time. This means that you will have to visit a couple of vendor locations in the hope that they have Memory Substrate in their inventory. In my case, I found Memory Substrate in the UC Distribution Center located at New Atlantis, Jemison, at the Alpha Centauri system. But anyway, here is a list of some vendors that could sell you Memory Substrate:
- UC Distribution Center at New Atlantis, Jemison.
- Jemison Mercantile at New Atlantis, Jemision.
- Shepherd’s General Store at Akila City, Akila.
- UC Exchange at Cydonia, Mars.
- Mining League at Neon City, Volii Alpha.
However, if you want to farm this material, then you will have to collect it from Drone Filterers. You can find these in the wild, and more specifically in Bel II, a planet from the Bel system. It is east of the Porrima system, and you will potentially have to make a couple of jumps to get there. Once you arrive, land on any part of Bel II and you will find these drones. Finally, shoot them down and collect all the Memory Substrate you need.

What is Memory Substrate used for in Starfield
The only known use for the Memory Substrate is as an element used to craft Substrate Molecule Sieve. You can do this by using an Industrial Workbench, however, you will have to have a rank 4 on the Special Projects skill. If you do, craft this component to use for research projects or even to craft further outpost structures.
