How to get Knotroot Rods in LEGO Fortnite

In LEGO Fortnite, Knotroot Rods are created by placing Knotroot into a Lumber Mill. Every Knotroot used converts to one Knotroot Rod. You can also receive Knotroot and Knotrood rods as a gift from Villagers who refine wood, and sometimes even find them in chests.

How to get Knotroot

Caves are the primary source of Knotroot in LEGO Fortnite. Check around rocky and mountainous areas, or use a Compass to see them marked on the map. Make sure that you have food and Charms before entering the cave because it can be pretty tough for new players.

When you’re in a cave, look for the roots that are tied into knots. This is, as the description suggests, Knotroot. However, hitting it with a Common Forest Axe only gets you regular wood. To get Knotroot Rods, you need to break them with an Uncommon Forest Axe or higher rarity.

You may also need to build to reach Knotroot on the ceiling, or you can activate “Player Fly Mode” in the settings. Don’t worry; there are no downsides to these optional settings. You can still complete Quests and progress as normal.

How to build the Lumber Mill and craft Knotroot Rods

The Lumber Mill requires eight Wood and 15 Granite to build and can be found in the Utility section of the Build menu. Once placed, it can be used to create things like Planks and Rods from various types of Wood. You can also assign Villagers to work at the Lumber Mill and produce wooden items for you.

Once the Lumber Mill has been set down (preferably in your base), interact with it and scroll down to the Knotroot Rod recipe. Pop in your Knotroot, wait for it to convert into Knotroot Rods, and voilá!

You can use Knotroot Rods to craft Fishing Rods, Shovels, and the Uncommon Pickaxe needed to mine Marble. Looking for a use for your fish? Try making Simple Sushi!
