LEGO Fortnite is packed full of resources for players to seek out, and you’re eventually going to need to venture out into the wild and search for trickier materials. One of these is Iron, a rather common material in other games but harder to find in LEGO Fortnite.
LEGO Fortnite: How to find Iron
Iron is a material that players are all too familiar with — more than likely due to Minecraft — as Iron is perhaps the most used crafting resource for certain items/weapons.
In LEGO Fortnite, Iron also plays a significant role during the middle portions of upgrading your village, and players will want to seek this out as it can be a bit tricky.
While we’d normally flock toward the closest cave to find Iron, players will actually need to head into the snow biome and search for any cave they can find within this desolate region.
Once you’ve located a cave, head inside and start searching around for a big cluster of material nestled alongside the icy interior of these caves. It’ll be noticeable right away, as it’ll be shiny and packed into certain sections of the wall.

One note before heading into these caves is that players won’t be able to mine Iron with any Uncommon or regular Pickaxe. You’re going to need to craft the Epic Pickaxe, as this is the only quality players will be able to use to break it down.
Once you have acquired some Iron, you’ll also automatically unlock the Iron Bar recipe, which is going to use the Metal Smelter station to produce this material. However, this seems to be an issue for another day, as the journey out of these caves is tricky enough as it is.
So, be sure to trek carefully when making your way back into the village — since it’s cold outside, players are more susceptible to critical hits by enemies and will need a decent amount of food to keep going.
However, we’re sure you’ll be fine, as LEGO Fortnite does provide an ample amount of food for players to obtain throughout the game.
