How To Get Hearty Truffles In Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom

How to get Hearty Truffles in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Delicious. Maybe.

Hearty Truffles make a return from Breath of the Wild, and they’re just as valuable in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. And on top of that, still just as rare to come across, much like in real life. If you’re in dire need of them, however, here’s how to get Hearty Truffles in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Your best bet is inside caves, simply put. There’s usually at least one growing inside each new cavern you discover, at least in the temperate areas of Hyrule. You might have luck finding them out in the Hyrule Field areas, swampy areas, or growing at the base of a tree, but caves are the easiest place to come across them. An NPC might sell one occasionally, but they’re expensive.

For example, the one in the image above was found in Whistling Hill Cave, located here in the Hyrule Field area:

Even then, as their description puts it, they’re still rare. They are truffles, after all, so they’re a step above ordinary mushrooms. Finding them can be a matter of traversing caves thoroughly, if you’re in for a spell of spelunking.

The value of Hearty Truffles is as their name implies: Cooking them will restore all hearts, and even give an extra heart on top of that, and that’s just if you cook one by itself.

This means stocking them up and cooking them for a boss battle or even just walking around the overworld period in early game can be a boon to keep as an emergency kit of sorts. In the meantime, have fun searching around for them, and hopefully Hylia is feeling merciful as you do.

Where to find Hearty Truffles for ‘Out of the Inn’

For the ‘Out of the Inn’ sidequest started by Dai in the inn in Kakariko Village, which requires a Hearty Truffle to progress and wake up the sleeping innkeeper, the quest points you towards the other waterfall in Kakariko Village.

At the end of the cavern you’ll find a boulder.

Move it aside to find a Hearty Truffle.

There’s actually two in this little cavern because the game must be feeling generous after letting you be oneshotted by everything in sight. Nice!
