Enshrouded: How to get Goo

While you might not use this to shower unsuspecting nominees for teenager-themed awards, getting Goo in Enshrouded is necessary to upgrade your Flame Altar from level 3 to level 4. This is extremely important because it will open up the places you can visit and how many Flame Altars you can build, among other benefits. However, before you can get it, besides already having your Flame Altar at level 3, you need to unlock the Alchemist and the Alchemist Mortar. This is only the first step toward getting Goo in Enshrouded.

If you interact with the Alchemist as soon as you get the Mortar, you will notice immediately that there is no Goo option in the crafting menu to select. There’s no glitch here. Crafting recipes will unlock once your character discovers their materials. In the case of the Goo, you will first need to craft Bug Dust. To craft it, you will need to collect Critter Parts. You can collect this material by defeating bugs in shrouded areas and collecting their remains.

Once you craft Bug Dust, hold on to it. This is one of the three materials you will need to craft Goo. You will also need Dirt and Shroud Liquid. You can find Dirt by using your Pickaxe in the ground, and you can obtain Shroud Liquid by interacting with big mushrooms in shrouded areas.

This might be a long way for such a trivial item, but leveling up your Flame Altar is worth it. Just be sure to not die while exploring the world, especially when you deal with those shroud bugs. Use either a sword or fire magic and you’ll get rid of them before they surround you.
