Ark Survival Ascended: How to get Flint
Flint is found in basically every rock in Ark Survival Ascended. Besides supply crates, Flint isn’t found on the ground in the wild. You need to mine Flint out of rocks with a tool.
You can obliterate a tree with your bare hands for Thatch, but you can’t get Flint by punching rocks. The first tool you’ll use to get Flint is a Stone Pick. This is crafted with one wood, one stone, and 10 Thatch. Stone is found on the ground and wood and Thatch can be harvested by punching trees, but you will take damage when you punch a tree.
Once you have a Stone Pick, put it into your inventory and equip it. Now, swing your Stone Pick at any rock and you’ll get Flint and stone. In my experience, you get more Flint than stone when using a Stone Pick.
You’ll get a good amount of Flint from using a Stone Pick, but as you experience more of the game, you’ll unlock better tools to harvest Flint. Here is the list of best tools to harvest Flint in ASA ranked worst to best:
- Stone Pick
- Excavation Rig
- Doedicurus
- Pheonix
- Metal Pick
- Mantis
- Gacha
- Ankylosaurus
Best locations to find Flint in Ark Survival Ascended
