Destiny 2: Into the Light: How to get enhanced perks on Brave weapons

If you have been following the TWIDs leading up to the release of Destiny 2: Into the Light, you know that among the plethora of announcements, both said content release and The Final Shape, there were some major weapon-related news dropped by Bungie. You see, once The Final Shape releases, new weapons will receive a new system of enhancement that acts as an expansion of the enhancement system seen for Raid Adept weapons. Why do we care about this? Well, because all Brave weapons will be enhanceable thanks to this system.

New Weapon Enhancement System in Destiny 2

What’s the catch? Well, first of all, we will all have to wait for the release of The Final Shape on June 4, 2024. So, if you were looking forward to enhancing your weapons in Into the Light – like I innocently tried to – then you are out of luck and it’s time to play the waiting game. However, once The Final Shape drops, all you need to do is head to The Enclave as you would normally do to craft weapons and use the Reshape tab to enhance your perks.

While this system will be similar to the Raid Adept weapons one, you will only get to enhance the main traits. That means that both slot 1 and slot 2 – barrels and mag – will remain untouched. This is because the Raid Adepts’ base counterpart weapons are fully craftable, making it a necessity to have more customization and enhancement, which the system for the Raid Adepts allows.

In simpler words, we will have to wait for The Final Shape to arrive to be able to enhance our Brave weapon traits. Also, in case you were wondering, this does not mean that the Brave weapons will become craftable. While there are enhanced perks in weapon crafting in Destiny 2, these are separate from the Raid Adept and future TFS enhancement system which takes place at the Reshape tab in the Enclave’s relic.
