How to get Dinraal’s Claw, Fang, and Scale in Tears of the Kingdom (TotK)

Hunting for materials.

One of the things you’re going to be doing while playing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is exploring the world. When you’re exploring, you will probably come across the elemental dragons. These dragons drop a multitude of different items you can use for various different reasons, such as upgrading armor, using them in quests, and fusing them to weapons. Dinraal is one of these dragons, and drops quite a few different items that you can use. Here’s our guide on how to get Dinraal’s Claw, Fang, and Scale in Tears of the Kingdom.

How to get Dinraal’s Claw, Fang, and Scale in Tears of the Kingdom

The first step to getting Dinraal’s Claw, Fang, and Scale is to find Dinraal. We have a guide about finding Dinraal, so you can use that to locate the elemental dragon if you’re having issues with that.

Dinraal’s Scale

After completing that step, it’s time to get your items. The easiest item to get in Tears of the Kingdom is Dinraal’s Scale, which you can get by either shooting an arrow at or swinging a sword at the spikes on Dinraal’s back. If you’re going to use the sword method however, you’re going to need to land on Dinraal, which is easier said than done thanks to the heat around Dinraal’s body. You’ll need a full flame guard resistance to do this, we have a guide on getting an armor capable of that you can use.

Dinraal’s Fang

For Dinraal’s Fang and Claw, we’re going to need to be gliding or skydiving around Dinraal. Firstly, the Fang. To get Dinraal’s Fang you’re going to want to be flying around the mouth area of Dinraal. Once you’re there, you can take out your bow, and aim a shot at Dinraal’s mouth. If you’re too far away to do this efficiently, you can attach a Keese Wing to an arrow to make it fly further, which helped me a lot while getting these items.

How to get Dinraal’s Claw in Tears of the Kingdom

For getting Dinraal’s Claw in Tears of the Kingdom, it’s much the same, but this time with one of Dinraal’s arms/claws. You’re going to want to skydive or glide until you reach that area, then aim your bow and fire a shot at Dinraal’s Claw. This will then make the item fly off.

A few things of note

A few things to note while getting these items from Dinraal in Tears of the Kingdom is that you might need to manage stamina while gliding. That’s because you need stamina to aim your bow in the air. Unlike Breath of the Wild though, Tears of the Kingdom doesn’t continuously take stamina while aiming, so you can take your time.

Another thing to bear in mind is that you can only get one of these at a time. Once you get one item from any of the elemental dragons, you need to wait until its body and spikes start to glow again for you to be able to grab another item.

One final thing to note, you will probably need to run after these items as they fly off Dinraal, as when you shoot them, they turn into a beam of light and come down onto the ground much like a falling Star Fragment.
