You’ll probably discover your first Caged Heart by using the Cage of Binding on a Malignant Heart. If you’ve begun the Season event, Cormond should soon give you a Cage of Binding. Find and head to a Malignant Tunnel, which is a marked farming Dungeon for these items.

There is a chance that Malignant enemies will spawn in the place of Elite enemies. Once killed, they’ll drop a Malignant Heart. Interact with it, and you’ll face a hoard of corrupted enemies. This hoard may drop a Caged Heart for you.

But what about crafting? Well, go to any of Cormond’s Workbenches marked on your map, and you can craft a Caged Heart using Malignant Ichor. You can farm this Ichor from Malignant monsters. Once you have enough, craft the Caged Heart of your choice. You can also Salvage Caged Hearts to get Malignant Invokers. This new item allows you to farm for specific types of Malignant Hearts. While there are 32 Malignant Powers, there are four types of Malignant Hearts, which are color coded.

  • Vicious Heart: Orange, offensive power
  • Brutal Heart: Blue, defensive power
  • Devious Heart: Pink, utility power
  • Wrathful Heart: Black, super power

Depending on which Caged Heart you’re looking for, make sure to get some Malignant Invokers. You can also craft Malignant Invokers at Cormond’s Workbench. With only a few jewelry spots available, deciding which Caged Hearts to utilize will be a difficult decision.
