How to get Atom Splitter in Remnant 2

Where do I get the Atom Splitter in Remnant 2?

Regardless of your Archetype in Remnant 2, having a solid melee weapon does come in handy. If you want the best melee weapon in the game, then you need to get Atom Splitter. And the best part is that everyone can get this weapon — as long as you know where to look. Here is how to unlock Atom Splitter in Remnant 2.

Where to find the Atom Splitter in Remnant 2

Unlike Nightfall, the Atom Splitter in Remnant 2 is found in the open world. The location of Atom Splitter is in N’Erud in Vault of the Formless. If you didn’t start your campaign in N’Erud, I suggest considering rerolling your campaign so you can get access to Atom Splitter as soon as possible.

Vault of the Formless is a fairly straightforward area, but the enemies you encounter are tough. Take it slow and work your way to the end of the area. Once you see the big boss gate, use the checkpoint and turn around. Atom Splitter is found in an area just before this, but we’ll need that checkpoint to help us when we inevitably die.

Now that you’re back in the open area, the goal is to jump onto the platform that the robotic arms raise up. To do that, wait by the edge of the walkway and wait for the platform to be in position.

What helped me pass this part is to look for when the robotic arms start pulling the platform out from the center column and jump moments before it stops moving. Als, but sure not to make a normal jump off the ledge — not a sprinting jump — by dashing forward. If you make a sprinting jump, you’ll overshoot it and need to restart. Luckily, we have a checkpoint nearby.

As the platform raises rapidly, look left of where you jumped from and look for a metal grate walkway platform that juts out. Wait for the platform to raise above it a bit and jump off the raising platform onto the metal grate walkway platform.

If you land the jump, then you can continue forward through this room and jump down the hole. Walk toward the orange light and you’ll see Atom Splitter thrust into the ground like King Arthur’s Excalibur. Pick up Atom Splitter and the weapon is yours to keep.

Is Atom Splitter worth it? Stats and abilities, explained

Aside from looking really cool, Atom Splitter deals high damage, has a 5% critical hit chance, a 6% stagger modifier, and a 90% increase to weak spot damage. On top of that, it comes with Fission Strike which is a Weapon Mod that, after performing a neutral dodge, sends out a purple wave of charged particles which deal 150 damage to targets within 20m. If you perform a heavy attack, the range multiplies by three and the damage increases by 25%.

While swinging normally with Atom Splitter will get the job done, the Fission Strike is an extremely powerful ability that allows you to deal high-damage ranged melee attacks which is great for bosses and clearing out rooms of enemies. I’d say the Atom Splitter is definitely worth getting, right after you get the Chicago Typewriter.
