In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’re not especially worried about fattening foods. You’ll burn off any unwanted calories by climbing every mountain in sight, or battling monsters. Thus, you can enjoy all manner of tasty grub guilt-free, if you can only secure the ingredients. Here’s our guide on how to get and farm Goat Butter in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Tears of the Kingdom – how to get and farm Goat Butter
Goat Butter is an ingredient used in a variety of dishes, including omelets, pies, cakes, and stews. Because of its versatility, you’ll want to keep a supply on hand.
You can buy Goat Butter at stores in Hateno Village and in Rito Village. The cost for each location is 12 rupees. Hateno Village carries five slabs of butter at a time and Rito Village stocks only three. Parga, the Rolling Pastures merchant who shows up on the roads near Lookout Landing, also sells butter.
Later in the game, you may also be able to purchase Goat Butter from stores in Kakariko Village and Gerudo Town. However, the other locations are capable of meeting your butter needs from the start of the game.
Other than merchants, there’s no reliable butter source because it is a processed product. Monsters tend to carry only raw ingredients, and you won’t exactly find butter growing on trees.
When I need a lot of butter in a hurry, I buy it from Hateno Village. You can do the same thing if you have enough rupees. Farm some other easily obtainable item and sell it to finance your butter addiction. For instance, you might find a place where you can get Hylian Tomatoes and gather a bunch of them, then cook them up as a dish to sell to a merchant. You can immediately use the resulting rupees to buy more butter.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available on the Nintendo Switch.
