Palia is a game that contains fish. And as a game that contains fish and fishing, one question must immediately be asked: Is there an aquarium feature for the fish? The answer is yes, but the way to access it may not be obvious and intuitive. Here’s how to get an Aquarium in Palia.
Palia Aquarium crafting
In a game that already asks you to build furniture for your house, you may believe you need to figure out how to craft an aquarium. And in most games, that first instinct would be right. Palia is a little different, however. You don’t actually need to craft the aquarium at all.
You will first be told about aquariums when you catch a Shiny fish. Shiny fish have a star next to them in the inventory and sparkle when being caught. This Shiny quality does not change their coloring or appearance like in most games using that word. Instead, a Shiny fish can be put inside an aquarium, while regular fish cannot.

In a twist of mechanical expectations, aquariums come with the Shiny fish attached to them. Each Shiny fish in your inventory can be placed down into your house plot, already inside a tiny aquarium. As far as I know, there is no way to craft a bigger aquarium and transfer multiple fish into it. You instead have to account for as many tiny aquariums inside your house as you are willing to decorate with.
Select your desired fish from your inventory bars while inside your housing plot, then left click.
You’ll enter placement mode and be able to set your new fishy friend down wherever it lets you.
And done! You now know that how to get an Aquarium in Palia is a lot easier than expected. At least you didn’t have to smelt glass?
