As the release of the highly-anticipated Alan Wake 2 draws closer, thriller fans are in for a treat that goes beyond the realm of the Dark Place in Bright Falls. Set to be released on the PS5, Xbox, and Epic Games exclusively on PC on October 27, 2023, this release falls right in the midst of spooky season, coinciding with Fortnite’s Fortnitemares event for Halloween. Epic has decided to bridge the two universes together by gifting some players with an Alan Wake skin and back bling. In this article, we’ll guide you on how to secure the Alan Wake skin in Fortnite.

Fortnite: How to receive the Alan Wake skin

To get your hands on the exclusive Alan Wake cosmetics, you’ll need to follow a few simple steps. First, you’ll need to purchase any edition of Alan Wake 2 on the Epic Games Store before October 27, 2024. This purchase qualifies you for both the Alan Wake skin and the accompanying “Alan’s Messenger Bag” back bling in your Fortnite account. There’s no rush here, though, as you have a whole year to do this.

After successfully obtaining your copy of Alan Wake 2 on the Epic Games Store, you’ll need to log in to Fortnite using the same Epic Games account. That’s it. After October 12, 2023, you can expect the Alan Wake skin and the “Alan’s Messenger Bag” back bling to be automatically added to your Fortnite locker. However, it’s important to note that these items are not exclusively reserved for those who purchase Alan Wake 2. Epic Games has also planned to make them available for purchase in the Fortnite in-game item shop at a later date.

What if I’ve already bought the Alan Wake skin?

If you chose to purchase the Alan Wake cosmetics and subsequently bought Alan Wake 2 through the Epic Games Store at a later time, there’s no need to feel buyer’s remorse. Epic Games has a nice consumer-friendly solution in place for you. If you’ve already paid for the in-game cosmetics, Epic will provide a refund of 1,200 V-Bucks to your account whenever you buy Alan Wake 2 up until October 27, 2024.
