There are many types of fish in Coral Island, even rare ones like the Sturgeon – but how do you get one? Catching fish is one thing, but figuring out how to catch a specific type is another.
Rare fish are hard to find and difficult to catch, so getting your hands on a Sturgeon won’t be easy. Let’s help you out.
Coral Island: How to catch a Sturgeon
This large fish is one of the more difficult fish to catch, but knowing where to look is a good start. You can get a Sturgeon in Coral Island at the Lake or River during the Summer, Fall, and Winter seasons, while it’s raining or snowing outside, and in the evening or night.
Even if there’s stormy or blizzard weather, you can find the Sturgeon. Just make sure to be fishing at the Lake or the River by your farm during the evening or nighttime. If you see a large fish biting at your line, that could very well be the Sturgeon.

Because of its rarity, it sells for 240 coins at its base quality. But if it’s an Osmium-quality catch it’ll sell for 480. I wouldn’t recommend selling it right away. You should first use it for the Lake Temple Offerings, since it’s needed for the Rare Fish bundle (just like the Arapaima fish).
Since the Rare Fish bundle is probably one of the tougher ones to complete, make this your first stop for your Sturgeon. If you catch another, I’d donate it to the Museum, but any other Sturgeon catch is good for selling.
That’s unless you’d like to bring it to the Fish pond you build on your farm for breeding or give it away as a gift. Eleanor and Bree like Sturgeons, while Jim and Theo find it a neutral gift. Don’t think about gifting it to anyone else, as everyone else either dislikes or hates Sturgeons.
Coral Island is available on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
