How to gain access to your villa in Like a Dragon: Ishin

Investing in the future...

There is a lot of fighting and violence in Like a Dragon: Ishin, which is exactly what fans of the series have come to expect. There’s more to the story than beating down villains, however. Ryoma lives an entire ‘Second Life’ that finds him engaging in considerably more peaceful activities. Many of these rejuvenating tasks are available at the villa. Here is our guide explaining how you can gain access to your villa in Like a Dragon: Ishin.

How to gain access to your villa in Like a Dragon: Ishin

At the villa, you can meet up with any animals you rescue from bad situations in Kyo. You can plant vegetables and sell the harvest to generate a healthy income. You can rest your weary bones, when you doesn’t feel like returning to Teradaya. And you can cook meals to eat for an energy boost when you need it most. However, you first must find the place.

To access the villa in Like a Dragon: Ishin, meet with the Shinto Priest for an event that takes place near the start of Chapter 4. At that point in the game, you find yourself heading south from the barracks, toward Teradaya. As you pass through the city gates leading to North Fushimi Ichibangai from the city’s Rakugai region, you witness a scene involving the Shinto Priest, a landlord, and a young woman. The young woman is on the verge of losing her home. You step in to buy her some time to repay family debts.

Your automatic intervention gains you several items from the Shinto Priest. He hands over the White Headband, Leather Breastplate, Leather Gauntlets, and Square Seal: Bleached Cloth. The interaction also adds Ryoma’s Villa as a destination. You aren’t required to do so, but it’s a good idea to visit often. You can take care of regular activities, such as gardening and cooking. Completing these chores will help you to gain Virtue.

Once you gain access to the villa, visit whenever you like by talking to the boatman. He stands on the docks along South Yashikimachi, southwest from Teradaya. He’ll take you to your retreat whenever you like at no cost. It’s possibly the best deal in the game.

Like a Dragon: Ishin can be purchased on Steam and the Xbox marketplace.
