How to free roam as Venom in Spiderman 2

Turns out, you can free roam as Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, but there’s a catch. You can only free roam as Venom by following a few steps and guidelines.

I remember free roaming as Venom in a cartoon New York City in Ultimate Spider-Man, and I’m glad we can free roam as Venom, even for a little bit, in Spiderman 2. Here is how to free roam as Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: How to do the free roam Venom glitch

The only way to free roam as Venom in Spiderman 2 is to play the “Don’t Be Scared” mission. This mission is a little more than halfway through the main campaign and it’s the one where you get to play as Venom.

Once you get to this mission, I recommend manually saving so you can resume where you left off after enjoying the Venom free roam glitch and you can come back to the Venom free roam glitch whenever you want.

Progress through the “Don’t Be Scared” mission as Venom until you are outside and in Times Square. When you’re at this point and the fight with the hunters begins, turn to the building on the left marked with the Blackman Brothers advertisement and spam X on the building to climb it.

Repeat the process on the next building in front of you. This one’s a bit taller so just be patient and keep climbing.

Once at the top, you’ll find an invisible wall on the left and right. However, for some reason, if you run into the right invisible wall a few times, it disables the left invisible wall which enables you to leave and free roam NYC.

Hopefully, Insomniac Games doesn’t patch this because it is really fun (and funny) to free roam as Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Venom isn’t made for free roam at all, so he has some hilarious swimming animations and looks truly ridiculous on the bike you can ride.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Insomniac Games does patch this, so enjoy Venom free roam while it lasts. While Venom free roam might not last forever in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, it would be great if we get a Venom DLC in the future.
