The PC version of Palworld has a ton of features for high-end machines, but the experience isn’t perfect out of the box. While PC players have access to things like DLSS and uncapped framerates, ultrawide monitor users are running into some issues at launch.
Palworld supports multiple aspect ratios out of the box, so you can play the game in 21:9 or even 32:9 without much hassle. The UI might be a bit hard to read since it still stretches to the edges of the screen (this is especially painful for 32:9 users), but overall everything works as expected. The FOV is a little tight, however, and the game crops the screen and zooms in to fill your entire monitor. This means your character’s legs will be cut off at the bottom of the screen and it will be harder to see certain things.
Palworld Ultrawide FOV Fix Explained
Thankfully, some Palworld players have already discovered a fix for the zoomed-in ultrawide FOV. Just follow these steps to change the ultrawide FOV in Palworld.
- Press Win + R to open Run.
- Enter “%LocalAppData%\Pal\Saved\Config\Windows” if you have Palworld on Steam or “%LocalAppData%\Pal\Saved\Config\WinGDK” if you’re playing on Game Pass.
- Open the Engine.ini file.
- Add this to the bottom of the notepad file: “[/script/engine.localplayer]
AspectRatioAxisConstraint=AspectRatio_MaintainYFOV” - Save the file and set it to read-only.
Adding this small line to the bottom of the Engine.ini file will stop the game from zooming in so far, granting you a much wider field of view if you’re playing Palworld on an ultrawide monitor. Setting the file to read-only will prevent the game from reverting back to its default settings, but if it does zoom in again after an update or relaunching the game, just add the line back to the Engine.ini file.

Sadly, the UI will still be locked to the corners of your screen even with this FOV tweak. Hopefully someone in the Palworld community will make a mod or discover how to change the UI scaling sometime soon. Having important information like your carrying capacity stuck in the corner of the screen can be frustrating for ultrawide users.
