World of Warcraft: How to fix Stuck in Loading Screen error

It’s never a good feeling when trying to play a game and you get stuck on error screens before even logging in. Unfortunately, WoW players have been going through some error screen nightmares of late.

Getting stuck on the initial loading screen is the particular flavor of error that numerous players are encountering right now. Not shocking, considering it’s been one of the more common errors players encounter in WoW.

As for solving it, there are some workarounds that Blizzard themselves have recommended to players. Here they are:

  • Reset your user interface to make sure your files and addons are not corrupted.
  • Close all other applications to resolve software conflicts and free up resources.
  • Troubleshoot your connection to resolve any network issues.
  • Run the repair tool to repair any damaged game files.

We suspect that this issue will plague players for quite some time moving ahead, and it doesn’t appear like there will be a clear-cut solution to getting rid of this forever. So, players will have to deploy these workarounds if they encounter this issue, which will most likely be resolved quickly.

That said, extreme measures such as redownloading WoW or uninstalling all of your add-ons should only be considered if you’re constantly experiencing this issue and nothing appears to resolve it. This could be more related to the drive you have the game installed on. If that’s the case, WoW will benefit from being installed on a faster SSD or NVME, rather than the now-outded HDD-style storage device.
