Hanging out with friends and advancing Social Links is usually pretty easy in Persona 3 Reload, but there are situations where you can really mess things up and cause a Social Link to Reverse. This is thankfully reversible, but it’ll waste some of your precious time to fix.
What is a Reverse Social Link in Persona 3 Reload?
Every Social Link hangout involves choosing dialogue options to advance your relationship and ultimately rank up the Social Link, but sometimes those dialogue choices can backfire. This is called a Reverse.
This only happens when you say something exceptionally bad and the game will warn you ahead of time if a dialogue choice is important and could potentially upset your friend. Plus, this can only happen in the late stages of a Social Link, so there’s no need to worry about turning a friend away when you’re only at rank two or three.
If you do make a mistake that causes a Reverse, you’ll see a red version of the usual Arcana rank-up screen so you’ll really know you messed up. While it sucks to see the Reverse screen pop up, there are easy ways to fix it as long as you put in some effort. Persona 3 Reload even adds a much more convenient remedy that doesn’t take up any time at all, too.
How to Fix Reverse Social Links
The normal way to fix a Reverse is to talk to the affected Social Link a few times. They’ll still be at their usual hangout spots on the same days that they’ve been available, so just swing by to chat if you want to fix things.

After triggering a Reverse, the usual card icon above their head will turn red instead of blue. You can speak to the affected person to apologize, and doing this on three separate days will repair the Social Link and return things to normal. Apologizing to a Reversed Social Link doesn’t pass the time, so make sure to talk to them before carrying on with your other business.
The other, more convenient way to fix a Reversed Social Link is to use Persona 3 Reload’s new Rewind feature. Available in the System section of the pause menu, you can turn back the clock at any time to undo any mistakes you make during the story. Not only is this a great way to make different choices with Social Links, but it’s also a great way to grind and prepare for any boss fights that may catch you off guard if you didn’t spend too much time in Tartarus before an important event.
